Admissions
The Bridge School, Sedgemoor is not a mainstream setting and admissions for our school is different.
Children and young people who come to us on a full time basis can arrive through different mechanisms, for those who have an Education, Health and Care Plan, they are placed at The Bridge School following formal consultation from the Somerset Council's SEN team and the school. The primary need of children who are placed at The Bridge School is Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
Young people who have been working with us through partnership in Key Stage 4, have access via referral to partnership pieces of work that can vary in period and duration to ensure they have the best possible opportunity to gain accreditations and qualifications appropriate to their needs.
Other students are dual-registered, this means they remain on the roll of their mainstream setting, but spend some time with us. This might be on a part-time basis and as part of their full time timetable, or they may attend full-time for a period of time.
Mainstream schools can refer a child or young person to The Bridge School through the Partnership Panels. (please see more information in this section on the website).
