Key stage 4 PARTNERSHIP Provision
The Bridge School, Sedgemoor works closely with our secondary mainstream school partners to support young people who are at risk of permanent exclusion. The support we offer varies dependant on the need of the young person.
1. RISE - a social intervention programme for students who are presenting concerning behaviours in school. Students will access in reach support one day a week in small groups. The young people will be supported to recognise their triggers and equipped with strategies to deal with challenging situations in a more positive way. Referrals for the RISE programme are through the secondary partnership panel. This provision is based at our Cossington site.
2. Students can also be referred by their secondary school for short term partnership intervention (usually 6 weeks either full or part time). If students are referred they will access this provision at the New Prospects site. The interventions within this provision are agreed collectively by the secondary schools through partnership panel and reviewed regularly
3. For the academic year 2022/2023 there are an additional 10 full time partnership places available for KS4 students. Students will be referred by their secondary schools through a mutually agreed process - which ensures equitability across all of the secondary schools in Sedgemoor. These places are subsidised by Bridgwater Education Trust (BET).
Our Key stage 4 provision based at New Prospects in Bridgwater delivers both academic and vocational education programmes to students. There is a focus on Post 16 provision and ensuring that students secure placements after school either with local colleges, apprenticeships, employment or training.
